After years of tweaking the GMB website and the GMB app, Google has decided to add it to Google Search and Maps. No more Google My Business, the new name of this feature is Google Business Profile. Google says that the new name is intended to represent the business listings more accurately.

First, Google will retire their  “Google My Business” app from both Android and Apple stores. Secondly, the GMB website is still active primarily to support multi-location accounts. Now you can access your GMB on your Google search. If you manage a GMB and are logged in with your Gmail on any browser, your listing will look like this.

Google also announced some other updates today, including an improved map search algorithm to reduce spam listings, new third-party verification options, and a more streamlined Google Business Profile dashboard.

Will my business be affected?

Now you have the option to edit your profile, create an ad, and post on Google from google search. To edit your GMB listing, you will need a google account associated with that location. In short, this rebrand will not significantly impact how businesses manage their GMB or Google Business Profile. The same features are available, and the GMB page will still be around for multi-location companies.

They explain how to manage in this short video.
